Basic Qualifications:
Must have experience in self-assessment practices and/or root cause programs and evaluation.

Core Competencies:
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Business or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Typically possesses ten or more years' experience supervising groups.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining schedules, records and reports and allocating resources to meet multiple projects operating dates, which includes prioritizing activities, delegating, monitoring assignments, and holding employees accountable for results.
- Demonstrated experience providing direction, coaching and mentoring, and making frequent decisions on immediate issues that impact the department, division or company.
- Demonstrated experience gathering and analyzing information, and making strategic recommendations that have moderate to significant business impact.
- Demonstrated experience interfacing effectively and collaborating with internal and external clients/customers and all levels of management to develop solutions and ensure stakeholder buy-in.
- Demonstrated experience working in an utility industry.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changes such as technology that have significant impact on the department and clients.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access, and Lotus Notes.
- Must demonstrate excellent business mastery, including the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks and safety appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
- Must demonstrate excellent management mastery, including effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and staying current with relevant technology and innovation.
- Must demonstrate strong personal mastery, including ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.

COMMENTS: Additional testing may be required as part of the selection process for this position.

Preferences:
MBA/MA/MS. Experience with and knowledge of TDBU safety programs, policies and objectives, and preliminary Incident Reporting System (PIR). Operational field experience within Power Delivery. Tap Root/Root Cause or Apollo Training or other incidentinvestigating methodologies.

Typical Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will supervise the administration of the Transmission and Distribution Business Unit's (TDBU) Preliminary Incident Reporting system, including ensuring that the correct significance level is determined for each event, the proper cause evaluation is performed and that corrective actions are established to prevent reoccurance. Typical responsibilities will include: supervising and overseeing a group of event cause evaluators responsible for the implementation of the Event Evaluation Program, maintaining the Preliminary Incident Reporting Program and coordinating the Corrective Action Program within TDBU; reporting the results of performance error events and status of improvement initiatives and corrective actions to organization management; providing support and project management for the planning and scheduling of assessment programs; ensuring as a Lead Evaluator and Self Assessment Investigator that solutions do not compromise safety, are cost-effective, and support organizational requirements; directing the preparation of schedules, records, work progress reports, future projects, and evaluation of completed TDBU safety events; providing recommendations and implementing action plans to improve human performance errors within the department; determining assessment strategy for groups within TDBU work performance including predicting areas at risk for significant performance shortfalls, foreseeing which areas are likely to return the best payback in performance improvement, and determining the assessment approaches best suited for the types of activities being evaluated; coordinating, directing, and maintaining contacts with third party software vendors, training coordinators, suppliers, and vendors; and other duties and responsibilities as requested.
